Special Events
Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District sponsors several special events throughout the year. Taking place at different locations within the district, our special events are sure to offer fun for the whole family. From "Movies in the Park" to full scale competive challenges like Oldlympics, Valley-Wide Recreation has something for you! Ever watched the “Little Rascals” and wish you could race around in a car like Alfalfa’s car? It is your time to design, build and race your own soapbox racer. Race on in to submit your registration and receive your user manual to be an official driver in Menifee’s Soap Box Derby Race on September 7th, 2013.
Whether you need help to get started on a basic racer design or you have your own plans in mind, we will be holding several racer building clinics up to race day. Keep in mind that your racer must be made and not prefabricated or a kit. We will have the tools and the building know-how at all of our building clinics.
You may have more than one driver assigned to a car, not exceeding three drivers. This will help on cost of building materials and can ease the share of the workload.
