We are excited to announce that 2012 marks the 40th anniversary for Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District! Our District was founded on July 27, 1972 with the idea that a special district focused on recreation and parks would have a tremendous positive impact on our community. For the past 40 years Valley-Wide has been served by an elected board of directors and staff who have devoted a tremendous amount of time and energy to the community.
This year Valley-Wide is planning a few surprises for the community in celebration of our 40 years. Keep an eye out for commemorative t-shirts, trophies, and special events that will make 2012 a special year to remember. This year, as you are enjoying the 4th of July fireworks keep in mind that it is a 40 year tradition that our board members forgo their stipends so the district can afford to celebrate our Nation's birthday with a wonderful fireworks display.
